3 years ago, I was at a place where I was searching to know where my dreams, desires, and ambitions aligned.

As I closed my eyes to reflect, a vision came to me.

A small island appeared in the midst of an expansive ocean.

It was lush and uniquely populated, and I sensed that it had been untapped, untouched, and unknown by anything other than what lived there.

Miles away from this small island appeared a mainland.

It was bustling with life - very much unlike the small island - and what lived there was completely unaware of what existed right off its coast.

My focus shifted to the ocean waves.

Movement by movement, they patiently began to push the sand from across the ocean floor, building a thin landform towards the surface to make a bridge between the mainland.

Curious if this vision could have any meaning or if my imagination just got the best of me, I searched for what I had envisioned.

After a few minutes of researching, I stumbled across a familiar image. The visual I had seen while reflecting was an actual type of structure called a Tombolo.

By definition, a Tombolo is "one or more sandbars that connect or tie an island to the mainland.”

I knew this was the inspiration I was looking for creatively and professionally.

For me, the small island in my vision represents small businesses and makers - the large island represents their dream clients and audience, and my creative services function are the bridge.
